Fool's Errand Pilot Comic

"As the royal jester, my job was to spread job - this grew difficult when the plague began - as royalty feasted, their subjects died in the streets. Images of a jester in a joyous room, then an empty room.

The jester awakens as a gourdsman. "I was given a second chance, thanks to the wizard. As were many others, families reunited after death. I want to use my new life to help the people he wouldn't".

"I found it funny, in a macabre sort of way - his incompetence an absurd punchline - the king did not". A guillotine lowers. "I don't regret what I said, I regret not doing more"

"It seems he doesn't feel the same". Cedric runs through burning village, commanding a large rat creature to stop and pointing his staff upward.

A gourdsman yells "run you fool!". The rat king turns, grabbing the gourdsman, saying "I was a ruler of the people, chosen by God himself, yet that wicked codger sends me an errand boy?"

Cedric sneers "good evening your majesty - how quaint to see your cruelty persist, even after death". The king lunges forward to eat the gourdsman, "cruelty, what you call cruelty I see as God's diving judgment!"

Cedric jumps onto the king's back, dodging his large tail and grappling to his fur, but does not make it in time.

The king says "their revival opposes the will of God. They are nothing but heretics!". Cedric dodges under the king, grabs his staff, and the two face off

Cedric is speechless, shocked back by a rat biting his hand. He says "judgment? What judgment is this? The hell of feeding your unending hunger?". He is knocked off the king's back by his tail.

A radish-headed gourdsman says "oy! this was a pilot for fool's errand! keep an eye out for further development"
